The broader narrative includes events and institutional encounters connected to York County, Pennsylvania, including the York County Judicial Center and York County Sheriff’s Office, which has walked itself all the way up to the doorsteps of the United States Supreme Court.

Yet within those Records lives a Mother whose Humanity exceeds every Word ever Written about her.

Why MoBetta's Story Must Be Told
If something important happens, somebody will eventually tell the story, correctly?
History has repeatedly proven otherwise… Stories disappear… Your story may disappear.
Perspectives are excluded… Memories become fragmented… Cultures become erased.
Institutional Language eventually becomes the dominant account merely because it was the, only, account formally preserved.
That is why telling our own stories matters.
If we do not preserve our experiences, someone else may eventually define them for us.
The preservation of Black motherhood, Black family history, parental experiences, civil rights concerns, and encounters with government institutions is not merely personal storytelling. It becomes part of our larger cultural record.
Gift of Custody refuses to allow one Mother’s experience to exist only through documents created by institutions around her… MoBetta speaks for herself.
Feminine Examination of Power
Gift of Custody examines maternal resilience, feminine sovereignty, the mother-daughter relationship, Black family preservation, parental rights, family-court accountability, public records, institutional authority, and constitutional concerns – without attempting to transform a mother into either the helpless victim or an untouchable symbol.
She remains Human; the Goddess within, was her ability to write this book – through Pain…
